Turbo 2 inaugural Ring & SPA Trip

Postby TC17 » Wed May 27, 2015 5:32 pm

Hi All

Long time since I posted here so a big hi to all you fellow Alpine and RS owners.

After more than 2 years the 5 Turbo 2 is finally finished and on the road, we still have some snagging to sort (that is John at JL and me), but we arrived at a point that allowed me to enjoy my first Ring and SPA weekend just past.

The car has been prepared to FIA Group 4 regulations and therefore will be eligible for Historic events (unless they get really fussy about the RHD) engine wise John (JL Engineering) has built the motor to Cevennes Specification and therefore once is fueling right we should be around 240 BHP. Currently we are at 220 BHP @ 1 bar but plan to raise this to 20 PSI once we have made another visit to KMI for some further mods on the K-Jet. I have got to say, it drives & sounds amazing so a massive thanks to John where I can't fault the quality of work and attention to detail (I hope this is conveyed in the photo's)

It has been a long hard road but really worth it, at the Ring the car was a "show stopper" and was actually awarded "Ring Tool" of the day last Friday (on the Bridge to Gantry website, forum and Facebook page), not sure how much this meant but I lost count of people coming up telling me.

On the way home we had chance to misbehave on the autoroute with a 458, MP4-12C & R8, they were more than surprised when I was up there arses at 130mph (sat nav) :D

Hopefully I can join some of the regulars the sprint and club events over the next few months and hope you like the photos.

very cool and looks like you have been trespassing on a certain Rolls Royce specialist land at a a guess.....

Look forward to seeing it out and about on the roads around here.

Just wondering, did you drive it to the ring or trailer it?
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

You guessed right, Rolls Royce at Great Easton

See you around soon.

Cheers

Looks fantastic, love the livery. That's going to make more than 20 bhp with another 6psi boost :0)
