Thanks

Wise idea, Even if you decide not to change it (not sure why you'd make that decision but your choice) at the very least make sure the nuts are all well lube'd up so it may not be such a B'stard of a job later.

lol ! Guilty ! Going to use it more this year I promise ! Might be interest in the flatbed for any big work required though as would be easier than staying up in Derby for a couple of nights etc.

What sort of rates per mile are we talking about roughly ?

Send me a postcode and I'll get a quote .
Mr Metters has just booked him to bring his 'Crapmo' down from Andypaint so can give you a recent idea of costs involved .

Or you can hire a self drive flatbed as I'm planning to for £90 for 24 hrs. I may be lucky in the fact there is a hire place only a few miles from me mind.

Thanks for all further advice guys and look forward to hearing price on pipes :-)

If you do intend to stay in Derby then you'll have to tell your life insurance guys and they'll want to increase the premium.
Derby is in the same location group at Kabul, Beirut and Liverpool! ;)

Just watch the small print for the free mileage on the self drive flatbed, the daily limits can be quite low...speaking from experience here...

It's not worth the hassle of doing it yourself in my opinion. Then add in fuel to the rental for the day and most importantly your time, not to mention the stress of "have I strapped it down properly, did it just move?"

Get Clee's man Mr Hardy to do it, he's very professional and done loads of alps. It cost me £300 from memory to get my 610 shipped from Torquay to Sandbach just to give you some idea.
