The Alpine Picture thread

Postby mellowyellowa610 » Sat Oct 17, 2015 7:32 am

Following on from the Use It Day pictures, I'd like to see more pictures of your cars out and about doing what they are designed for (even if they are old pictures). I'll start with these which have a bit of an aviation theme. This isn't a competition, just an opportunity to share your passion. Make a commitment to take at least one picture every time you use your car. Even in the Tesco car park.

What happens next.........................................?

And I love using my Alp, easily the best drive I've ever known, if I've got time to shuffle the tin tops out of the way, I'm in it, that goes for the little 4cv/750 as well and I have many better days from October to April to get out in them than the other way round, true I avoid the salty couple of months and this year fell flat on it's bottom due my paintwork mardy fit, but now I hope to clock some miles up on it.

I know I have mentioned selling, and whilst it's it could happen at the right price it would only be a case of room for another to be built to my spec from a shell up, perhaps with a few little differences.

I'd love to get it across the channel so I'm going make that my goal for 2016, even if it ends up a solo Dieppe dash and picture, because if you can do it in one of these, surely the Alp can make it !

Thanks Ryan, this is what I love to see...An Alpine on an open road and an owner enthusing about it's merits. Love it.

Derby-Dieppe December Dash........... :super
http://book.ldlines.co.uk/sales/results.aspx
I'm only putting it out there, tunnel would be quicker, how quick could it be done? Not long drawn out plans in the future, if the weathers nice etc etc
I'm about 5+ hrs from tunnel, traffic allowing and stops inc, couple of hours to check in and crossing, another couple to Dieppe, picture and back, 20hrs? 24hr if ferry, longer crossing but nearer landing point? I dunno? Nights are getting even darker, soon be work-food-bed, work-food-bed....repeat
Only a thought. And you know what thinking did for mankind.

Stuff waiting for December, I've got a week off for the kids half term and my son is keen to go, so feck it either mon 26th or tues 27 tunnel, one night in an IBIS I stayed before at Treport/Eu, then back tues/ weds night.
I know its no longer either a dash, in December or from Derby for that matter ( it made more sense than saying Dronfield ), but I had thoughts of doing just that and trying to get a few others up for it, which might or might not have happened, but strike while the irons hot and get busy doing.
I've a few little ends to tie up before I push the button, when I know the definite times I'll post up and if anyone wants to tag along, jump on.

I would have liked to be able to join you Ryan, but too close to my trip to Spain to see No2 son and Champions League match in Sevilla. I am certainly in agreement that we should get our cars out on the road more often, so if anyone has any suggestions for a run out or meet somewhere I would try my best to join in. I am planning a trip in the 5 to Le Mans Classic next July, so would be interested to hear from anyone else who is going. Maybe we could arrange camping together? If possible, I am hoping to make a week of it and go on to the museum at Loheac afterwards

I have just booked for the le mans classic next year, not sure if it will the MX5 (brother in laws again) or whether my Atmo will be back together by then. Doing it with the same bunch as last time which means whatever it is, its the lowest priced vehicle in the convoy...last time we had two Ferraris and a Countach (with Duff AC, they cooked...;=)) )...Porche Boxsters don't count do they?
Hoping to do Macon in it too....but as its lego just now, who knows....no pressure the RATS....

So whats wrong with Macon then ......... Four days of fantastic driving ...... (two of them getting too and from) ...... together with great socializing, and time to discuss the cars in the bar. ???????????????????

I do like the sound of that, and will have a look to see if the budget can stretch to two continental trips next year , but seem to recall it was quite a lot of money. No doubt excellent value though, if you have the readies available.

I was thinking more of a picnic in the Peak District or a tour of the Yorkshire Dales to be honest

Arrggghh Martin, I expected so much more from you. I know how much you like taking your car for an excursion and getting a nice arty shot.
