Workshop manaul

I have just managed to get a copy of the
RENAULT ALPINE
V6 GT & V6 Turbo
Workshop Manual
(ENGLISH text only)
First published March 1986
Off ebay.
Question is there another manual
as I feel this one lacks lots of info re the engine etc
compared to previous copies of Haynes manual ive had for previous cars.

There's very little engine stuff in the manuals. Best option re the engine is get the Haynes (or similar) covering the R25's. (I think the manual used to be on the site though, along with the full gearbox one). Someone will have the pdf versions if you wait around....

The Haynes Volvo 260 manual covers this engine (ISBN 1 85010 206 6). I found a copy on eBay for a couple of pounds.

I also have a Volvo 260 series workshop manual by Autobooks (ISBN 0 85147 719 4) that I picked up at a classic car show for a similar amount. It's not as detailed as the Haynes manual, but still useful.

They're 'odd-fire' 2.7 engines which (I think) are a little different to the 'even-fire' 2.9 engine in the GTA.

You're quite right, I was thinking of the engine in my A310V6 and forgetting the differences to the GTA engine.
Still have useful information, common to both engine versions, if you can find them for a small outlay.

Since I posted I have found a GTXr25 Haynes manual on ebay, just awaiting delivery.
While on the subject
where would I be able to either:
get a owners booklet, copy of one (sure someone must have a photo copy or pdf copy.
what iam looking for is a list break down of service items
eg
how much oil and grade etc.
if any one could help id be grateful.
ive also read various comments suggestions on using unleaded petrol and as to add the leaded additive or not.
BTW I have the GTA turbo.

I tend to use 98 RON unleaded where available...and no additives. I think many others do likewise. ..I've never seen folk pouring in additives on club road trips...but thats not to say no one does.

This data sheet might be of use for fluid levels...

Oil type has been discussed on the forum...mineral vs synthetic...folk have differing views.

The owners manual..I think there is a PDF out there..there used to be a downloads section... Maybe Vince can find it..?

Isn't the atmo/d500 odd fire and the GTA turbo and a610 even fire?
I had the impression that the A310 engine and GTA atmo engines were very similar except the capacity...so which Volvo manual you need will depend on your GTA type...

Yes..the atmo (GTA) is odd fire..or so I believe..just look at the distributor...
