I like it, definitely a grower, lose the silly orange headlights and follow it on that lap from all angles and .....yes I like it a lot.

I guess it'll have the Clio 200 turbo engine with semi auto box, and I'm sure hybrid will come in somewhere as long as its out the back that'll do fine.
You can draw comparisons with other medium coupes and lets face it aerodynamics will always mean a basic shape these days, but if they make it reliable and quirky enough to offer something different to whats on offer now, it could be a seller, and therefore the start of a brand they will build on, hope fully with another model more like the RS01, but I think it will be about getting numbers out firstly.
Times change and I for one am sick of seeing German lumps on cart wheels with beardy twenty something sales execs in them, bring back flares, fags and buggers grips........the end shots of C'etait un Rendezvous is all I have ever aspired to......cracking troosers :super

Depending upon the angle it looks like a cross between a Matra D'Jet, A110 and an Audi TT.
Not unpleasant but it'll need to grow on me to be much more than that.

I really don't see any TT or RCZ in that at all. has some rather odd door release handles and obviously the headlights are still being worked on...

I'll start with a positive comment the front looks great I've not read anyone else's comments only looked at the pictures posted and that's unfortunately where my positive comments end; however, I will reserve proper judgement when I have looked at a little more and or seen it in the flesh.

Unfortunately my first impression's are bland like an Audi TT and my worst fears are that Renault would bottle doing a proper job and they on first impressions have in my mind its neither proper sports car or sporty 2 door coupe ...it seems the word is obsessed with crossover vehicles that are neither one or tuther...I am to be frank underwhelmed :(

Having seen the Twitter feed pics I have to admit the car isn't quite as bad as the other pics and are somewhat slightly more flattering but that said my initial opinion still stands.

I like it. Looks modern with a hint of retro.

The above shot looks like a 110 dead ringer.

It really is amazing how much bigger cars have grown over the last 30+ years. I saw an alfasud today and was stunned by how tiny it was. A family saloon in the 70s was a Cortina Mk 2 or 3, or an avenger/ marina. They may be a smidgen longer than a modern hatchback (which is the level smaller than a regular family saloon) but they're at least a third narrower.
Apart from the size, it looks quite good from the front but the back really does look like every other fat-arsed car around now.

I am wondering about what brand name they will use in the UK?? Sunbeam has been gone along time, would be great if they could use the Alpine name.... but I doubt it somehow... :hang

I'm pretty certain Renault bought the Alpine name in the UK a few years ago (3 or 4).

The Sunbeam use of the name was a bit odd as Rolls Royce had used the name some time before them, but I guess that hadn't registered it...

Well fingers crossed the Alpine name will be used in the UK....
This will help us all get the true recognition of the mark, and stop people asking " Is it a BMW"... ** shakes head** Yes I have been asked that a few time when filling up at the pumps.
