Rad Scoop

Postby clee » Wed Sep 14, 2005 3:20 pm

Having taken my front bumper off and looking at the piccies of Peter G's
I notice that there's supposed to be a scoop .My car has air-con so perhaps there's no room, as the evaporator adds a good 5 cm to the thickness .
Peter ,is there much room between fan and inner face of scoop on yours :?:

Off the top of my head Ive no idea...if no one else answers I will go and look, but I suspect you should have the scoop its only thin plastic but pulls air through the rad.

They all should have the scoop, but are often broken or missing. It's a different one for cars with aircon.

Try Simon Auto in Germany - I'm sure I got mine cheaper than either of these quotes but I may be wrong. It does make a real difference to cooling so it's worth the money and effort. You'll probaby find that the mounting bolts are rusted and/or sheared. They can be replaced with a little careful grinding, new stainless bolts and a few dollops of fibreglass.

Thanks ,I'll look into it .Have got to do something re cooling mods ,with the extra boost the car runs hotter .Rad recored + fan upgrade .Kenlowe have quoted a twin 13" unit that is top spec for £248 + vat .It's a lot of money but the major problem is overheating so ........................
