Maybe with a little more height the inlets will be above the roof line.
I'm guessing you will also be needing to turn it round, so that if faces forward while being driven from the crank at the rear.

Supercharged V8

Postby Tony Smith » Wed Oct 05, 2005 11:06 am

Just back from Vegas with a plan with for my race car engine 4.6 0r 5.0 Mustang engine with supercharger - all parts cheap and readily available several examples putting out 600bhp at the rear wheels with few internal mods just stockish engine running 14-18 psi of intercooled boost. 2003-4 Mustang cobra engine is the one to try and source 32v all aluminium supercharged 450 bhp from the factory - chip and pulley change - 562 bhp!!!

sounds like that will shift the weak point of the drive train over to the g/box and d/shart area.
what thoughts of a straight through exhaust do you have?

yep will require the strengthened gearbox

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Oct 07, 2005 9:09 pm

No way around it will have to get one of the strengthened transaxles the gt40 boys use. Have already found someone to make the driveshafts.

Definition of shortly?

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Oct 07, 2005 9:27 pm

Got to get my ecu done on my road car first - I want to attend plenty of events in it next year. Will be starting getting my rolling shell stripped tomorrow but be a few months before I look to start spending on the expensive bits. At least I have a semblance of a plan now though!

You may not need to. You can get UN1 adaptors to fit Granada driveshafts which are used on 99% of the V8 kits (GT40s, Lambos etc)

I take it you are going to drag the car and not circuit race it? It will be an interesting car once its done (ready for 2010??? ), you may need a small brake upgrade too!!!!
