Well the A110 is back in the workshop after a holiday at Mr Sheaders and I'm going to make a concerted effort to make some progress so thought I'd start a thread :o

That's good progress. The wiper arms could do with realignment though. :D

Original plan was to fit the wet sump Salv Sacco 17G motor pictured left. This has now been superseded with the dry sumped motor to the right.

Engine has been converted from internal timing chain to external timing belt. Also drives the dry sump and allows for a vernier pulley on the cam.

Mating the transmission has been more of a challenge.

Firstly needed to find a suitable bellhousing as previously was fitted to a hewland box.

This one seems to fit ok although fork arm is actuated on the wrong side. Might strip out and convert to concentric hydraulic. Has a centre bearing to support the input shaft which has caused further problems.

Flywheel is aluminium with steel ring gear and tilton clutch. Seemed a shame not to retain this but spline pattern was completely different

Original friction plate is on left. Plate right is from a turbo 2 borrowed from JL.

Seems all these friction plates are interchangeable between makes and the AP plate was a perfect fit.

A quick search on ebay found a new one in stock at demon tweeks

Here's the second hand one test fitted in the input shaft

Now faced with finding an input shaft to suit.

Top shaft is original but no spigot to support in crank bearing.

Centre is UN1. Spigot but no bearing surface for the bellhousing.

Bottom is R16 I think. Spigot, but bearing surface in the wrong place and splines wrong at gearbox end.

Might have to sleeve a UN1 shaft or lose the bearing in the bellhousing.
