Or can you just keep on editing your posts with your stream of consciousness?
Its either locked or not surely ?

Not sure why some have visible edits and others don't. If you look back at the thread in question you'll see that one of your posts is marked as edited by you but another isn't. I'm unsure why.

My edited post was before lockdown and shows as such because it was edited after a response .
You have edited your last post a few times now after locking .
I don't understand why it was locked in any case .
The recent thread has generated far more interest and participation than anything in the last few years ....

Yes great thread.

I moved a thread completely unchanged from a public area to a more appropriate members area where it was more suited and could be developed more by addition of further data. It didn't affect you or MVS in any way. In fact MVS asked for more data and I added it in an area where I was more comfortable doing so. Only one contributor was affected and they were given limited membership in return for their efforts. It was hardly a cause for continuing complaint or beef for beefs sake.

Wasn't beef or even for its sake .It was an opinion expressed .
Stupid move to move a high traffic thread to a closed group .....

High traffic through the members visits lol. So makes no difference.

As I said only really affected Plug550 and that has been addressed.

You earlier said fair enough...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I happen to think registration, VIN and vehicle details are better placed in a members area. I mentioned this to Simon at the start and it was left open to see if it made any difference to data gathering and it didn't with the exception given above.

The amount of readibilty on this forum for non members is already exceptional compared to most.

Is this my Register thread?

Reg no is no secret, just look in google images for alpine gta, or search photo bucket.

VIN is not secret either. google "how do I get VIN from Reg"
The register only has public domain data.
Would it be better if I had a seperate, linked sheet, for public viewing that did not show the VIN?

BTW, if onyone ever sees "my reg" for sale, that is ST1 it is on a 2002 Blue Merc A class currently, please let me know.

Steve, yours is on a 2012 Porsche Panamera "SD1" although it probably get confused with an 80s Rover.

Security sucks big time, car thieves already have more data than an HPI check.

And PEN 1S is not a valid registration, but I met the man who drives LE55 TAX. He is big bloke and needs a range rover to tow his race car.

Yes probably. We can always do that later. A list of reg numbers and basic info in the general access area would be a good idea for new owners and non-members to see if they are on the list and they can always join up if they want to know all the nitty gritty stuff and more detailed info later.

Checkout some of the more detailed data in the other registers and you can probably see why it's in the member's area.

It's all still public domain really, only got to cut and paste a link!
