GTA body kits

Postby Kiwi GTA » Sat Dec 24, 2016 11:31 pm

Hi does anyone in the club have the GTA body kit on there car. Would like to see some photos if they do and what types of kits are out there. I'm looking at the GTA ll kit from Simon at the moment. Also would anyone know where I might get a steering wheel for my 1990 GTA atmo.
Cheers

OEM If possible thanks, mines not too bad, just starting to show signs of deterioration, maybe there is someone around who restores them.

If you mean the LeMans kit that Renault fitted then there are 2 cars I know off with the kit fitted post factory, Simon Gamblins and Ruperts 24v one. Alot of work as the rear arches all need to be bonded to the body, not sure on availability of parts either. JL Engineering have a car with a Fleishman kit fitted which is more aggressive.

I've got bumpers and side skirts .Pretty sure they are old Prima Racing but they don't supply them anymore .
Last time I spoke to Tony he said they still had the moulds but no plans to make any more.

I have a complete Le Mans kit which I will be putting on my car next year, you can get it from a company in France but the frunt section is all in one peace and they do not ship collection only.
You will also need to be good at fibreglass work and the rear arch sections will be a challenge. : :crazy

Hi Lance
There is an upholstery chappy here in Tauranga who did my steering wheel in my blue '90. Made an absolutley splendid job.
My black car has a smaller Momo.
Happy to liaise with the guy if needed.
Cheers

Great would like to see some pics of the more aggressive Fleishman kit. Definitely interested in getting the steering wheel possibly recovered. Will PM Graeme about the steering wheel.

Lance, my '86 GTA has the full Fleischmann kit with all the bits and doo-dads, I think it's the nr. 1 kit, not the nr. 2 kit which has even bigger fender flares. But the bigger flares really aren't necessary, as the nr. 1 kit flares are big enough to house those humongous 345/35 rear tires just fine. I'm happy to post some pics, but right now it's time to get started on a little champagne.

Happy new year!

Don't Simon Auto still list the Fleishman kits on their website?
Not cheap though....!

Thanks for that. The kit looks good and yeah don't think I would go anymore aggressive than that. Looked up Simon Auto and he still does them. Not cheap so I'll have to start putting extra away for this one.

Tried to PM Graeme and found it sitting in the outbox and can't seem to resend from there. Not sure how this works, thought it would simply send once pushed submit. I'm obviously not doing something right. If someone can point me in the right direction on how to PM would be much appreciated.
