an easy job

wow ive just found an easy job and yes it was on the alpine just fitted my new art coilovers took a full day but i had to do one at a time and not to mention god nows how many fag/tea breaks :lol: but the car has now been transformed handleing/looks should be ready for the rolling road soon hopefully 250bhp+ thingers crossed :)

250bhp+.......I wouldnt be getting your hopes up....you have the same set up as me and it didnt show nearly that much on a RR.....and my engine was rebuilt in 2001 and only has 10,000 on the clock.

Cant remember now......there was a thread somewhere, and yes Ive got a hybrid turbo. I didnt get an at the flywheel figure, but it worked out at something like 170 at the wheels which David thought equated to about 220-230.

:( seems a lot of bhp to loose from a 220-230 flywheel down to 170 at the wheels, i am really hoping for a bit nearer give or take to the 250 bhp, saying that each dyno will be different to the next :?: A few of us should get together for a rolling session :)

RTOC are having a RR day here this Saturday 8/10 .All Renaults welcome
I'm going and trying to get my atmo there as well for comparison and to look into the carbs .Just turn up ,£25 to go on the rollers ,prizes ect .Will be mainly 5s I expect :shock:

GTA's usually lose around 50bhp through gearbox losses and those big rear tyres.

Even more if you have a suspect driveshaft or sticking rear calipers.

Thinking about it now, you may get a bit nearer than I did....one of my rear callipers was sticking...hence why I replaced it earlier this year and I had also accidentally retarded my ignition instead of advancing it. Got to be worth a few horses. I run 255 rears......I dont know what youre running, but if you gone for the widest option of 275 you will loose even more.
I did show 242lb ft of torque which was quite healthy!

For reference, my old atmo at 173bhp with 255 rears lost 47bhp in transmission losses. My turbo at standard power lost 52bhp.

Then the drivehaft started making noises on the rollers and it jumped to 64...

Induction heat soak on the dyno is a big problem for the Turbo, as the intercooler is not getting any airflow. Yes, they stick a big fan in front of the radiator, but of course the intercooler gets none of that. Maybe take off the back grille, and strap a block of ice to the intercooler for extended tuning time, and a more accurate result.

Current wisdom says it gets no airflow at all ever :shock:

Problem I find, is no RR's want to help out with the intercooling because of heath and safetly. Ive brought large VentAxia extractor fans to RR's and they won't use them because they say they get in the way, trailing lead etc, and they don't want water pissing over the floor from intercooler sprays..

Freeze spray (the type you use in plumbing) could help and shouldnt be a problem for them..

my passenger side rear caliper is also sticking :( i went for the 255 tyres
