I'm not sure if it's still in the area, but in Bavaria there was one with a BMW M3 motor and very special suspension, which was built by one of the guys that worked at BMW M-Sport division, back around 2001.
It looked like it wasn't fun to drive as it just had far too much power...

You can NEVER have too much power.

OK, I think it was more a case of the power delivery was so immediate that it was lifting the rear which then went skipping across the road. I don't remember the numbers but (IIRC) it was over 300bhp pushing a go-kart.
