Clarke Service - Machine Mart

Postby simontaylor » Tue Apr 04, 2017 10:42 am

Like many others, I guess you have tools etc from Machine Mart and have bought their Clarke products.
I have a trolley jack, outside of the years warranty and the torsion spring which stops the handle falling on your head or the car has broken.

Onto the Clarke website, raised an enquiry, https://www.clarkeservice.co.uk/parts.shtml
within hours I was emailed back a complete parts breakdown of the trolley jack.
I asked for the cost of the specific spring, by Part Number ... ... ...
£3.75, and today paid by CC and its on its way.

That's Good Efficient service in my world. Will be buying Clarke in the future.

Some of their stuff is very good but some of it's crap. A friend bought one of their generators which kept cutting out, so he took it back, same again and again and again. Finally after taking back the 4th one (all within 5 days) he insisted on a refund (which they begrudgingly gave him) and he bought one elsewhere...

including postage? I just ordered 2 casters for one of my jacks and cost me £28 all in
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

No such thing as a free lunch, yes I had to pay Postage and VAT too, but all in it was a lot cheaper than a new trolley jack.
If you are near Leytonstone in East London, I think you can collect and pay over the counter.
For casters, I might have searched ebay or local h/w store, £28 seems a lot, but at least you know they will fit, work and job dne in jus a few minutes.
and I imagine if it was a warranty repair, it would be free, hopefully.

The part has arrived the following day, and it is the right one and fits.
Back in business now.

Given the weight they handle I thought better get the correct ones. Their place is in Leyton, zilch parking anywhere nearbye.
