Renault Alpine Le Mans (Right Hand Drive)

Hello all,

After a death in our family we have acquired a Renault Alpine Le Mans (Right Hand Drive)

It has been parked in a garage for a number of years and would need restoring quite a bit. The panels seem to be ok with no obvious knocks or cracks.

After researching the car, we understand there was only 26 made in 1990, this one has a brass plate denoting that this car is number 9.

We would be grateful if anyone could help put a rough value on it and any advice in general really.

We have not tried to start the engine as yet.

There is also a additional different set of alloy wheels.

Hi Andy,

That's a great find albeit sad circumstances.

The value is likely somewhere between £10-£20k dependant on condition. Certainly no less than £10k as a project if it's complete and running with no serious corrosion. If it was in perfect condition it could be £25k+. LHD cars are worth much more than RHD.

I have some one locally in London that has been looking for a genuine Le Mans to restore for some time now and your car could be ideal for them.

As you will now doubt be told the main potential problem with these is chassis corrosion which is not always immediately obvious behind the fibreglass.

Whereabouts in the country are you based if anyone wants to take a look?

As bigmvs has already said the chassis number or just the last few digits would also be much appreciated for the vehicle register.

If the other wheels are spoked bbs style with a single nut centre cap they will be the original wheels.

I think this car resided in Twickenham for several years in the 90s. I had just bought my black GTA and the guy who owned this car lived in the same block as my best friends girlfriend. I am just going by the Image wheels - but can't be too many around with those wheels on.

That means some changes to the Le Mans register...

70404 is currently wrongly allocated as badge number 9 so someone has made a mistake by going on the last 3 digits alone.

67404 is clearly the correct car number 9.

We have the original Registration listed as H123 EGA. Is that the current registration?

I'd be amazed if this sold for anything less than £20k tbh. Any condition.
An immaculate car is probably near £35-40k.
Put it on eBay and give everyone a chance!

I reckon someone's trying to up the wide body replica values here ....

That's the fairest way, I was up for it but as I thought about it is a collectors car and once restored it will probably sit in a garage and do less than 300/500 miles a year. I drive mine all the time and do not want to worry about scratching, dings, and miles on the clock, and driving it hard.
Love the look of them and the one I am building I will not care about any of the above.
