We did check the radiator but I suppose we're clutching at straws now...

Surely, if the rad is blocked, you can run the motor up to temp and use your hand to feel for cold spots on the rad?

My deepest symapthies  .... I only sold my Turbo just after you'd bought yours, nearly PM'd you to see if you'd be interested but just saw your post before hand... If only I'd advertised mine a few days before you may have bought mine instead. Don't give up though, I'm missing mine already... bought an slightly modded Alfa 156 GTA instead ... nice but just not the same !

Rupert you wanted too much money for your atmo, or should I say too much profit!!
My atmo is actually not that bad just trying to find out 100% why she is building up so much pressure in the cooling system, I did a blue liquid test and it was kind of positive, what i mean by that is the liquid did not turn absolutely yellow, and i do have a blow on the exhaust and wonder if it was picking up the fumes from that. Anybody have any other ideas? I will bleed the system this weekend to see if it might have a air block.

The plot still thickens! Prima hve done more or less everything and it o the final road test yesterday, guess what...it overheated! Much scratching of heads.

Next step is to get the rad off...again, again, again. We're convinced it's circulatory and not an engine problem. The car even drives well (for 10-20 miles that is).

World of pain.

Oh, and thanks for reminding me again Rupert for not buying your turbo. Nothing like a little salt in a wound!

Mr Jon...

I hope your bill isn't getting to big for all this head scratching

No need to take the rad off again...

Just disconnect a rear coolant pipe, and one of the rad ones, and pump water through with a hosepipe, and vice versa with the other side of the system. You will know if you have a blockage in about 10 seconds.

Getting back to engine related problems. I take it Prima has done a sniffer test on the water and it has come up negative for exhaust gasses?

If so, the other thing it could be could still be a liner seal problem, which is pumping crankcase gasses into the system, but won't show up on the sniffer test.

:D
