Renault Alpine V6 Turbo VIN question - D501-201-J

Postby achova » Mon Apr 30, 2018 10:43 pm

Have had a few Japan spec Alpines with unusual VIN numbers. Anyone here able to help with dating the Alpine V6 Turbo with Chassis ID D501-201-J? First registered in 1990 but would be good to confirm the month/year of production.

Thank you,

Hi My japanese 1988 turbo had 1988 stamped on the jack

worth a look if the original jack is in its bracket LHS of the engine bay

Could date it better with engine bay and dash pics. Red dials early '89 or earlier some tell tale changes in engine bay too.

Thanks for the info. The car is on it's way to the USA so don't have access to the chassis plate. But if the photos below help, would appreciate any observations!
