Front Fuel Filter Location and Part No

Postby BIG_MVS » Thu Oct 27, 2005 9:22 am

Going to check out the front fuel pump and replace the fuel filter(the ones located in the front of the car - I have replaced the rear ones already) so need the above info please?

Also are these the same for both the atmo and turbo cars?

Cheers,

6001021534 for le filtre 14.49 + VAT

6000066854 for le poomp 109+VAT

Filter is the same as the atmo, pump is not.

Filter is a simple push fit affair, so a couple of quid from your local motor factor.

If its clogged....will it cause trouble? I take it the front pump is under the plastic shield that attaches under the front sub frame?

Yes, normally cable tied to a chassis rail, doesn't normally cause as much of a problem is clogged as its just the feeder pump to the rear, but worth changing anyway...

After pulling an original front filter on a turbo apart, I found it to be a fine mesh filter and not the normal very fine paper fuel injection filter at all.

If a normal injection filter, was fitted the large filter near the rear pump would have very little work to do in the filtering department as the small front filter would do it all, and so now I am looking to replace the front filter with one of the original mesh type that only stops small rocks.

I am also looking to replace both of my pumps as I think they have done their service, and will probably fail at the least opportune moment.

Anyone have any manufacturers part numbers for the front filter so that I can short-circuit the Renault Parts Department route or are they only available from Renault?

Its only a 'push on fittings' fuel filter, any universal will do... :)

Thanks - been getting quite nasty misfires on boost so going to replace this (back one already done) and check fuel pump wiring to make sure that its not fuel starvation.
