Heater Matrix pipes

Postby Wrightbr » Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:42 am

I have bought a samco full coolant kit from the club (15 pipes (7+5 + 2 exclusive to the club)and it seems the heater matrix pipes are not in there. Does anybody know if these should be included in the kit?

Thanks

If you mean the one at the front that tees off the main radiator hose then no they have never made that. I ordered 3 sets of front hoses including one for myself and you are the second person to ask so I think I’ll send them one and see if they can add it to the kit. There is also a small return to the engine similar shape to the oil cooler pipes.

Two hoses to and from heater matrix and one S shaped at engine end.
They are in the SimonAuto kits and looks like there is a new French one doing the rounds soon.

There is this company that do a D500 set for £333

http://www.classicsiliconehoses.com

Quite like the more discrete look without the samco branding..

Maybe these folk could do a turbo set too..
They are Leicestershire based...and I guess could beat the 4 months from samco...just a thought ??Image

Back to the original post..I don't think these d500 have the heater pipes either

Yes they do ..they are the middle lower pair and the rear one is just left of that pair nestled in the big boy.
They might be persuaded to do individual hoses? Dunno until you ask. You'll never see them again so colour shouldn't matter.
Most of that kit crosses over apart from the two engine hoses. Turbo would need new main hoses and some little pipes to turbo and expansion tank. The water pump hoses, rear head hoses can be made from std straight and 45 degree hose. The oil filter cooler could be just a straight wire reinforced pipe as Darren did on his Turbo.
So....perhaps two big ones and 3 small only required.

If I felt like wasting a day to go and see them to not sell any then I would .... :MoreSarc

I got the full kit from Simon Auto which seems to have all the pipes

I’ve yet to fit the heater matrix pipes which failed leading to this purchase. So far the fit is ok but the 3 oil cooler pipes needed trimming and one is too small in diameter, the water pump 3 needed trimming but fit ok.

Big pipes seem fine, I’ll let you know how the Simon matrix pipes fit, delivery is 3 days from them

Only 3 months at the moment lol. Used to be 6 weeks before it all went pear shaped last year.

You can see the difference straight away with the cheap kits. No spigots on any of the t-junctions bar the expansion, hoses just moulded onto the main hose which creates a weak point. Costs a lot more to have a proper insert hence one reason for the price difference.

The Simon auto kits for an Atmo come with turbo main feed pipes, which fit an atmo but don’t sit in the pipe guides.
The classic silicon hoses are the right shape for the Atmo, but that set isn’t complete either.
I have the main two pipes on order from them and will then have a pair or little used (1200 miles...one Mâcon plus a bit) Simon hoses available.
I’ll work out the missing hose to the header tank once it’s in my hand. They are quoting 2 week’s from order so should be here soon. Will let you know how well they fit.

Hi Simon,
It will be the two large bore water pipes from the metal front /rear pipes to the thermostat housing and water pump/block at the back of the car. They have a big 90 degree bend in them and then fit onto the header tank too.
I’ll send you a picture when I get them off.
Cheers

Just to let you know that the heater matrix hoses from Simon Auto fit well, I found the best way to feed them up the central tunnel was from the underside of the car up to the heater matrix connection.
