I would find it easier to search a pdf manual on my iPhone rather than going to the boot to dig out the either owners manual or infotainment system manual.

Thx.

I contacted Alpine and did get a response.

With an attachment.

Unfortunately the attachment was 2 pages of the pdf owners manual embedded in a Word docx.

It’s a start though. I will keep chipping away.

It's working on my Android phone now. What I needed to do was to select the HTML option and THEN agree to the T&Cs at the bottom of the page. THEN I can go back to the previous page and download via the link on the previous page. All a bit flakey!

I do have a copy of the manual in pdf format now. Only reason I haven’t posted it is because it says it’s not permitted to copy without Alpine’s permission.

Any ideas - not found anything in the handbook (but only had a man look).

the red squares relate to rev's 1 square per 1,000 rpm and increase in to middle. bit like the rev counter in race mode.

Yes it's pretty obvious once you are using a few revs - less so when you are ruining in. (That's my excuse anyway). A bit of a gimmick, I think - or it would be if the rev counter needle was a bit more obvious in Sport. That said I do like the way the revcounter is circled in red from 3000 revs and the rev limit altered until the water temperature gets up to 70C.

Can't see the point of displaying power and torque figures - let alone the steering angle in Track.

bcr5784 : I see the mods on Pistonheads removed your half term report which I found quite interesting, what was that all about.

Perhaps my fault. I (thought) I had suggested that it was about time that Pistonheads had a dedicated forum for Alpine - they have fora for other much lower production cars. Instead they moved it to "French Bred" - which really wasn't at all helpful. I've since reposted on General Gassing https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/top ... 4&i=999999 hoping it will gain more attention. I'd like to see a sensible debate on the car to a wider audience than this forum provides - whether Pistonheads is the right one is, perhaps, debatable.

Maybe suggest a Renault sport/Alpine forum?
having said that. Pistonheads is pretty dead these days.

I guess by the nature of previous sales figures and LHD market imports only in the early days that Alpines have always been a bit niche in the UK.

The new car is the first real opportunity for them to breakthrough into the mainstream over here.

The Premier edition alone has sold 3 x more cars over here in the first month than the A610 did in total for 3 years!

Just the length of this thread is an indicator of the popularity of the new car.

I'm pretty sure its part of the 500Euro (yes really) storage option - nothing to do with the suitcases. Have to say that seats apart the differences aren't really worth talking about. Except, that is, the gloss (rather than matt) cowl over the instruments which surely must reflect badly in the screen.

The Car Of The Year jury announced the Alpine A110 was amongst the seven finalists for the 2019 awards, yesterday.

The winner will be revealed on the eve of the Geneva Motorshow on 4th March.

Spotted this today. Hadn’t realised the first UK Pure and Legende deliveries had started to filter through.

Popped into Alpine Solihull today to see the Pure and Legende and eat Tims biscuits :-)

Pics on Facebook here https://www.facebook.com/46827273994957 ... 855677852/

Seems those who invested in the Premier Edition got a great deal.

A Pure specced to similar equipment level as a PE increases from £46,905 to £56,543.40.

Similarly a Legende increases from £50,805 to £56,111.40

As far as I can tell the increase on the Legende is comparatively less as it comes with more expensive wheels as standard.

Sadly the photo of the options sheet on the Pure was too blurred to post.

Really glad you had a good time with Tim and made sure he didn't eat all the biscuits, Stephen.

The P.E came in at £51,805 OTR but you're right, it did represent phenomenal value for money!

It's worth mentioning the Pure on display also benefits from front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera, the Focal Premium audio system and the storage package...none of which come particularly cheap and don't necessarily represent the true "Purist" ethos of the model.

It does make it a really difficult choice between a Pure and a Legende but if you really want the super-lightweight Sabelt racing seats, they're only available on the Pure.

As you say the Legende does come with some bits and bobs that the PE doesn't - but then again the model shown doesn't have the forged wheels which cost a fair bit too. And the blue paint which is included on the PE is a lot more than the grey of the model shown. Swings and roundabouts.

Seems you can spec a Pure pretty much the same as the Legende (black leather 6 way seats only). Still don't really see the point of the two models except to give the rather spurious impression that the Legende is the plush option and the Pure the "enthusiasts" option.
