My wife would disagree. If you have stuff that you don't want to crease then you need something larger than cabin bags. Trouble is that almost all suitcases have wheels and are too deep for the front boot. As it happens we have a geriatric Samsonite suitcase which is shallow enough (no wheels though) - but they are vanishingly thin on the ground.

They look great! Glad I measured accurately :Cheer

If I was just using one case, I'd be travelling extremely light - my wife would make sure she filled the case before I got a look in! :D

Defo better with 2 bags I think. Must be a lot easier than leaning over with a big heave suitcase. Looks to be much more space in A110 than a GTA, but then the GTA does have back seats.

Still not sure if I am tempted....just think it could turn out to be an expensive test drive.

I for one would appreciate any further update on this. Did the crack appear suddenly or gradually? Did you hit a pothole or anything? If it is a stress fracture, stress from what? I have experience of several TVRs with delaminated windscreens, always lower corner, due to the fact the windscreen was the stiffest part of the bodywork, and therefore took the the stress of body flex. I would not expect this to be the case with the Alpine, but it does sound odd.

Apparently the crack was caused by "an issue with the fitment caused by excess aluminium". Windscreen was replaced last week and different glue used but no "excess aluminium" modifications. Checked this morning after 200 miles and......it's cracked again!

Anybody have a route into Alpine? I think we need a response on this.

It's not complicated.....They are aware of the problem so you take it back and tell them to fix it properly .....I wouldn't have accepted it back if they hadn't addressed the issue both parties were aware of....I'm used to seeing bodges on the old cars but :MoreSarc

is this a RHD only issue?
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

No. It has been known about on the French FAR site for some months now, as has the theory that it is due to a protruding seam. All the more worrying that in this case the fix hasn't worked, or maybe hasn't been implemented correctly by the dealer.

Did 2000 miles through the pyrenees. West to East Spanish side. East to West French side coast to coast "off piste". Some hard mountain roads, cannot adequately describe how awesome the Alpine was, windscreen intact !!

On roads usually closed due to snow at this time of year, so only saw one car on the twisties, and it was a landy doing maintenance!

The sat nav with tolls off found some amazing roads, all I had to do was choose mountain villages as my destination. No music required... red button and paddles all that is needed, hours and hours of epic fun.

Visited the factory on the way back, the "yellow vests" appreciated the alpine on the way; got waved through nearly every road block ! The factory recommended I work through a French alpine distributor if I wanted to talk to them about retrofitting reversing camera, infotainment update etc

Yes it is pretty awesome around there found the Spanish side better, even fewer cars and better tarmac and the fuel is a lot cheaper, is your car left hand drive but believe it or not there are even better roads than that by far not that far away which could push you and the car to the limit.

I’m on 5100 miles and the good news is the crack doesn’t seem to get any bigger! The first one didn’t either.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Anyone else had the recall letter about the fuse for the engine fans and a software update for the headlights.

On the FAR forum they mention it can be done during a future service but the letter seems to indicate it should be brought in soon.

Its a 4 hour round trip for me so I only want to have it done immediately if its important.
Its all about the corners. :A610
