In need of some front discs :evil:
Looking at Tarox G88 .Unless someones got a better suggestion ( Stephen ,PM me with your best prices :lol: )
Now they all quote the GTA @ 259/21/47 £233
Espace,25 @ 259/20/46 £180
Pads are £40 for the fronts .

They will both fit :?: be OK :?:
Is it worth £53 for 1 mil thicker :?:

Don't use Tarox pads!

If my experience with Tarox pads was anything to go buy look elsewhere. Stopped ok but made the brake pedal feel like a lump of wood - think their fast road compound was a bit hard for road use

Not sure about pads yet as they do 4 versions ,but heard good things about the discs .ATE,s got EATEN within 3 minutes of heavy use down the mountain , with Frodo ds2500 ( Ohh No :!: Dark Lording It Again ) :lol:

Eating pads looks cheaper than eating disks?

What about a bit of ducting from under the car and onto the discs, might this assist your quest for better brakes?

They just aren't big enough ,thats the problem .Stephen's sussed the way to go but it means new boots as well so 2K + .................. :shock: .
Do not rate the ATE's tho they should have lasted a few hard miles,prob the wrong mix with semi race pace pads ,but even so..................They gave up after the 3rd corner :evil:

3rd corner, sounds faulty to me.
I'm sure you nearly crashed and caused a fortune of damage, must have been a manufacturing fault. Perhaps you need a refund to subsidise a better quality product.

I once took an ANSA exhaust back just near the end of it's warranty, asked a refund as I said it was nightmare and costly to get it on and off the car and needed to get a better quality and more expensive system instead, no problems..... full refund received, they just send it back to Italy as a reject.

Lee, if they warp at the 3rd corner, they are not fit for the purpose they were intended for.
They should be ok for thousands of corners, going up hill, down hill, in a straight line, where corners are far apart or near, and they have sold them to you to go on an 80's super car. Is there a restriction about what pads you must use? Just ask, what is the worst that can happen. Ummmmmmmmmm, they might say no ???

Simon I agree ,but I bought them secondhand so no recourse .They had no miles on them so I regard them as just run in .They were fine until I gave them some real hammer ,better than the previous setup but until needed you never know .All I can do is voice my experience and learn from it :roll:

I will have my 300mm upgrade ready around Christmas, as Ive sourced some new disc castings which are suitable for the original caliper setup...(sorry Peter!)

..so you could buy some cheap standards to get you by and wait, or go for a higher spec standard fit disc now....

Bigger capacity calipers needed methinks + stonger discs to cope.The rear end will suffice for now ,but the front's a real worry :shock:

Not nesseccarily, remember, the Europa Cup cars ran standard calipers with bigger discs, and they were only 285mm... :D
