hi after much thought and talking to gta specialist i have put a 2 post lift in to my workshop to go throught the car this winter the workshop manaul says not to use them but i have been assured that it is safe to do so. my main worry is were to place the arms on the car.any advice would be much appreciated many thanks brian.

Well done you won’t regret putting the lift in, unless you’re jacking points are good on the rear do not put the lift pads there, l put them on the engine Frame where the cross member is with the big holes cut out in it so the load transmits on to the turret, do not put it on the pice with the holes in it as that is thin. On the front spread the load with with a 4x2 until you no the condition of the car, you will soon see when it’s up in the air.
Just take your time and look what looks strong with out any rust common sense is required ! if you are putting a lift in you must be a practical type of bloke.
That’s how I do it other members might have a different method, hope you enjoy the car when it’s all up together

thanks for the advice allways better when youknow some one has done it before! already enjoying the car as its on the road what agreat handerling car bit rough from cold but sings when its warmed up!so glad ibought it instead of the 240z!!. brian

a red atmo car last owner had it since 2003 and done3000 miles in it lived 1 mile from me and i never saw it!! engine fine plan to take out renew gear lingages rubber hoses and give it aproper seeing to! wish me luck brian.

Well if the carbs work just run it but to get the best out of an Atmo and to make them super reliable put the Holly kit on it from Jhon Law JL Enginenering.
Plus you will get good mpg but the old carb setup you will see the fuel gage go down in traffic.

will put that on my list will ihave to source another manifold?also on my list is that it slips out of 5th gear some time takes 3 or 4 miles it doesent jump out convinced its the lingage asthe last owner who i know well says it has only recently started to happen. any advice would be welcolme.brian.

Yup me too, wanted a 240Z but got a GTA instead. Mind you that was back on 2004 and never regretted it.
