It looks like a rebuild project.
Usual problems are:
1) Even if you do it all yourself, It'll probably cost more than it's worth.
2) What bits are missing or buggered (no mention of the chassis)
3) Who's got the space.

Apart from the dust it looks correct, but 'no logbook' may need checking out.

If I had the space then it's worth a few hundred in parts alone.

It may make a good trackday project.....

No money & no space

It's tempting for the 70s roadsports but the rules insist upon original size wheels & tyres which are smaller than they should really be...

And I'm broke with no space left...

Certainly is an engine pic on my screen, covered in body filler dust. Now up to 311 pounds. That has got to be cheap!!

:(

I hate things like this. Even the larger picture link doesn't work. No doubt nothing a complete reformat of the harddrive and reinstallation of windows won't fix

Has the "restorer" given notice to the owner that the car about to be sold. I wonder who legally should get the money for the sale.

Perhaps bid on the provision that you will be given copies of letters written plus the contact details for the owner, so that you can verify the legalities of the situation.

After all, the seller can only sell what is legally his.

Anyone here an expert on consumer law ???
Perhaps a call to Classic & Sports Car tomorrow may help. They must have heard stories of restorers left with customers cars.

BUT it does all sound a bit risky

the guy can sell it as he has described above, all you have to do is apply for a log book and the dvla will send you one if the previous keeper doesn't reply in 14 days you get your logbook and voila it's yours

get a bill of sale from the vendor and have in writing a guarentee that if the V5 application is refused he will refund your money in full, he will give it to you without any hesitation if he's confident he's the owner, or get him to apply for the V5 himself and once he has it he can legally sell it on.

Voila! :P
