Keep coming to take a look at this thread, tremendous work, good memories when my father had the car, do let us know if you ever put it on the market, hope you're enjoying it!
Nice work on the house too!

The car is now on the road I've driven it 400miles in the past 2 days.

I'm going to the rolling road with it on Wednesday which should be interesting, it will probably get painted next yr.

I hear it did quite well at the rolling road, despite a few limiting factors.... :up

Yes it went okish,

It made 310bhp @5400rpm and 310lb.ft @ 5200rpm with 12psi of boost but I have a bank to bank fuelling in balance which looks like its cam timing.

So the engine will be coming out to check and adjust cam timing as max power should also be around 6500rpm, inlet temps were 45°C about 20°C above ambient temp.
I think I can improve on this though so have some mods to do to the chargecoolers and new wastegate actuators to fit at to allow me to get to 25psi boost.

As usual there is always more to do but a promising start and it didn't blow-up.

I'm out of the country now till early 2019 so all this will have to wait until then.

Have just joined the forum as a potential Venturi 200 owner and came across this post - any update since the last entry? Is the engine now fully tuned and has the paint job been done?
I am on the Bucks/Oxon border and would love to meet any local Venturi owners.

Since the last post in 2018, I drove the car in the summer of 2019 everything is mechanically complete its just the body work and AC that needs finishing.

The turbos were replaced in January in 2020 due to the left turbo starting to smoke.

The new turbos have larger turbine housings and bigger compressors, I only got to drive it twice at the end of the January before I left for the US and it was significantly quicker and pulled upto 7000rpm where as with the old turbos power used to start dropping away after 5500rpm.

I had planned on taking it to Circuit de Ramparts historic race meeting in France mid September this year but with the current situation this looks unlikely, so I think the trip will be postponed till 2021.

Maybe I'll treat it to a paint job before then!

Great to here you are continuing to develop the car and it is still in your possession, you really must bring it to a weekend event like La Vie en Bleu so week can see it.

Next time I'm back I will try and bring it to an event, looks like that will be next year now....

I am going to try and organise getting it repainted in the mean time because it looks a mess unless you are 50ft away.

The MOT guys always look at it like what the hell is this wreck!! Then they get it in the air and see everything new.

Would love to hear any updates on your car. Have you returned to the UK and if so have you done the bodywork?
Out of interest which turbos did you choose to replace the originals?

Turbos.PNG

I'm still Stateside not back now until August when I will be back for 2 months, I will have the car out then and hopefully take it to the rolling road.

When I rebuilt the engine I fitted Nissan 300zx twin turbos as the sizing seemed about right (3ltr, 280bhp) they were the auto version with the smaller turbine housings as they were easy to get hold of I think I paid £200 for the pair.

I then replaced them with the ones shown in the picture.

The engine uses the original bottom end (2.5ltr) balanced, with piston mods. Later 3ltr heads which I cleaned up the ports and flow tested them before and after. Cams supplied by Martin F on here and uprated valve springs.

Inlet manifold is the 3lt version with a Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 throttle body (90mm with built in TPS, Idle control)

Thanks for the update. Would be very interested to see the car when you are next back in the UK. If you don't already have a bodyshop in mind check out https://www.1stplacefinish.co.uk/.

They are very experienced with fibreglass specialising as the do in race cars and the paint standard is very good - they do some outsourced work for Aston Martin. Had quite an eclectic mix of cars when I visited including a full race spec McLaren F1 and a Ford Capri!

Its been a while since i updated this thread.

I got the car out to a sprint at Eelmoor in the middle of October, considering it hasn't done many miles it had zero issues on the day and it was good to find the limits on the track.

I needed a new turbo inlet as the one i had previously made had cracked so I beefed up the thickness and changed the material it was 3D printed from.

The gearbox is now out and with JL Engineering having an uprated input shaft fitted along with a LSD.

I'm taking the car to Circuit Ramparts race meeting in the middle of September, So next thing is to get the AC gassed and working!
