GTA Tyres

Postby pgoldsmith » Thu Jul 30, 2020 6:03 pm

Has anyone tried out Nankang Sportnex 195/50/ZR15 on the fronts.
My Goodyears are well due for replacement, not due wear but because of their age. :(

Michelin Pilot Sports are about £70. Lots of people rate them.

Hi Paul.
I have Toyo Proxes on the front of my GTA. I like them, not too expensive either. I also had Toyo 225 / 50s on the rear, but I bought a pair of OE Michelins last year. Apart from the look, there's not much difference in the way the car drives.

Thanks Andy , Paul,

I have R888 on rears at the moment, but they're coming to the end of their life. Looked at replacing the R888R but they are a tad expensive, plus I'm not planning to take it on track.
So, I was looking to replace the fronts first with a more normal tyre and then the rears.
I'll take a look at the pilot sports.
Thanks
Paul

The Toyo Proxes work well on my A310V6 (same size as the GTA). They work pretty well in the wet, and are nice and progressive if you are pushing it a bit. Sensibly priced in my part of the world too.
